It was a tough one for the Black Stars of Ghana when they walloped by 3 goals to nil by Algeria on Wednesday. Algeria beat the Black Stars in a pre-AFCON friendly match hosted at the Education City Stadium in Doha, Qatar.
The Black Stars were outrightly outplayed and outclassed by the African champions, piling up doubts if the Ghanaians can win the AFCON.
Adam Ounas’ 8th minute goal gave the Fennec Foxes the lead in the first half. An own goal was gifted to the foxes by Jonathan Mensah in the 74th minute to double their lead, with Islam Slimani sealing the victory with the third goal in 78th minute.
It was a tough match for the Ghanaians who were unable to properly settle as the Algerians dictated the pace of the match throughout the 90 minutes.
Ghana is expected to leave Qatar on Friday January 7, 2022, and will play Morocco in their first match of the tournament on Monday. Algeria will open their campaign against Sierra Leone on Tuesday.
