ACP Yaako Donkor takes charge of PIPS

Assistant Commissioner of Police Lydia Yaako Donkor has been appointed Head of the Police Intelligence and Professional Standards (PIPS) of the Ghana Police Service. She takes over from COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah who has been reassigned to the Office of the President.

ACP Donkor is a lawyer with over 15 years’ experience and was until her new appointment the Head of Legal and Prosecutions at the Greater Accra Regional Police Command. She is also the Chairperson of the Police Ladies Football Club.

The Police Intelligence and Professional Standards (PIPS) Bureau is responsible for investigating complaints from the public against police officers, investigate instances of malfeasance and any other act of omission or commission, and matters concerning police corruption, misconduct and other offences.
