West Ham United avoided defeat in their latest English Premier League match thanks to a goal from Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus.
Kudus came off the bench to score his first-ever Premier League goal, earning a 2-2 draw against Newcastle United at the London Stadium.
West Ham took the lead in the eighth minute with a great finish from Tomas Soucek. Despite their dominance, they were unable to score again in the first half and went into the break with a 1-0 lead.
Newcastle came out strong in the second half and quickly overturned the deficit, with two goals from Swedish forward Alexander Isak in the 57th and 62nd minute.
With the game slipping away, West Ham manager David Moyes brought on Said Benrahma and Mohammed Kudus in the 75th minute to try and rescue a point.
Kudus repaid Moyes’ faith by scoring the equalizer with just one minute left on the clock. He received a pass at the edge of the box before unleashing a powerful left-footed shot that brought the London Stadium to life.
