Women are being urged to take charge of their health and get screened for breast cancer by Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, the 2020 Vice Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Speaking at a breast cancer screening programme organised by the Greater Accra Women’s Wing of the NDC, Professor Opoku-Agyemang emphasised the importance of early detection for more accessible and manageable care.
She acknowledged many women’s fears and anxiety about voluntary cancer screening but encouraged them to overcome their concerns and participate.
She also emphasised that early detection is critical for effective treatment and urged all women to avail themselves of this potentially life-saving screening.
By doing so, they can avoid the financial burden and physical suffering of advanced and incurable cancer.
