Joyce Mogtari rebuffs coup claim against John Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama has rebuffed claims that he is behind plans to stage a coup d’etat and has met with a terrorist organisation.

An obvious false and concocted story, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Aide to the former president says, “any attempt to align or associate him with anti-democratic activities, acts of destabilization, and abuse of human and other rights, cannot be true.”

Joyce Mogtari said in a statement issued on Wednesday that the former president “is very well known, both in Ghana and internationally, as a democrat and a strong believer in strengthening democracy not only in Ghana but across the continent of Africa.”

For a man with these credentials, you cannot, and it will not be true aligning or associating him “with anti-democratic activities, acts of destabilization, and abuse of human and other rights”, the statement added.
