Man electrocuted at Aflao while trying to steal cables

A man has been electrocuted while trying to steal electricity cables in Aflao in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region.

Wednesday morning’s incident caused damage and affected power supply to Aflao and its environs.

Public Relations Officer of the Electricity Company of Ghana in the Volta Region, Benjamin Antwi says the cable thief is receiving treatment at the Aflao Municipal Hospital.

He appealed to residents to be vigilant and report any suspected cases to the ECG and cautioned the public about the dire consequences and dangers such acts pose to them.

Mr. Antwi assured customers that the Company is working to restore power to the affected areas.
