President Akufo-Addo to speak on new COVID-19 measures

President Nana Akufo-Addo will on Sunday night (March 27, 2022) address the nation on new measures taken by the government towards the management of the Coronavirus outbreak.

The President’s address comes a few days after the Finance Minister announced some government interventions to help revive the country’s ailing economy.

President Akufo-Addo is expected to among other things capture an announcement of the reopening of the country’s borders and measures that will be put in place to prevent a possible spike in cases of COVID-19.

Earlier this week, government hinted of a possible opening of the country’s borders. This follows calls by many stakeholders who have lamented the negative impact the situation is having on the economy of border communities.

Former President John Dramani Mahama is the latest person to have urged government to open the land borders.

Mr. Mahama in a Facebook post also voiced out the concerns of travelers about PCR testing when returning to Ghana.
