Security minister gets GH¢18m for Bawku security while the people suffer, says MP.

While the people of Bawku continue to face a crisis of insecurity and poverty, reports indicate that the national security minister has been receiving a whopping 18 million Ghana Cedis every quarter to address the security problem in the area.

The Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga, made this revelation on the WoezorTV Morning Update on Sunday, questioning the appropriateness of such a large allocation when the people of Bawku are suffering.

Ayariga pointed out that the promises made by the NPP as a political party have contributed to the insecurity in Bawku, making it even more frustrating that millions of cedis are being allocated to the national security minister while the people of Bawku are living in poverty and under a curfew.

“It is disheartening to see that 6 million Ghana Cedis is being handed over to the minister every month while the residents of Bawku continue to face insecurity and hardship,” Ayariga stated.

The MP called on the government to prioritise the needs of the Bawku people, who are struggling daily.

The issue has sparked outrage among residents of Bawku, who feel neglected and forgotten by the government. They are calling for immediate action to address the insecurity and improve their living conditions.
