STATEMENT: Mahama 2024 Campaign announces 3-day tour of the Western Region.

Accra, Ghana—The #Mahama4Change2024 Campaign is pleased to announce that our presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, will begin a three-day Western Region tour on Monday, November 25, 2024.

Mr Mahama will meet with diverse groups, including religious leaders, the Regional House of Chiefs, traditional authorities, and, importantly, young Ghanaians who are grappling with many challenges brought about

These interactions are crucial as we seek to sell Mahama and the NDC’s vision of Building the Ghana we want together. As we engage in these meaningful conversations, we must also address the troubling state of our democracy. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is fully aware of the underhand tactics being planned by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in collaboration with some elements within the security system and the Electoral Commission.

We have credible information about the illicit printing of fake ballot papers by the NPP and Bawumia campaign, which is intended to undermine the electoral process. We are aware of the attempts by the ruling party to manipulate the elections by intimidating voters and polling agents in their strongholds so that they can push in already-thumb-printed ballots.

We want to be clear: the NDC will not countenance any attempts to undermine the will of the people of Ghana and will not stand by idly or allow any attempts to disrupt our nascent democracy. We are prepared and will forcefully resist any attempts at electoral manipulation as planned by the NPP and Bawumia campaign.

We repeat our call on the Electoral Commission, President Nana Akufo-Addo and Mahamadu Bawumia to act with integrity and ensure a free and fair election process without intimidation and vote tampering.

We remind all Ghanaians that the power is in your hands. Your voice matters, and together, we will ensure that each and every vote counts.
