Manchester City sealed top spot in Champions League Group A after coming from behind to beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 at the Etihad.
It is astonishing to think Man City were losing this game as it seemed like they dominated proceedings from start to finish. Even without Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden and Jack Grealish there was still an element of total control from Pep Guardiola’s side.
İlkay Gündoğan had the ball on strings, Bernardo Silva was effective in the final third once again and what a moment for Raheem Sterling.
It is been a strange start to the 2021/22 season for Sterling, with the 26-year-old finding himself not first-choice in the starting line-up anymore and persistent rumours over his future not going away.
But he was on hand to score a vital goal tonight, getting City back into the game and finding the back of the net in a position he is so effective from, at the back post. Job done for the Premier League champions, who will avoid some big names by finishing top of their group.
