Former President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday expressed his sadness at the loss of advertising colossus, Togbor Mensah who was the President of the Advertising Association of Ghana.
Describing him as ‘a master of the outdoors’, President Mahama disclosed to a delegation of family members and officials from the advertising industry that the late founder and Managing Director of DDP Outdoor Limited was a good man and a good friend.
The delegation formally informed Mr. Mahama of the death of their kinsman and the arrangements for his burial and funeral.
The former president said he first met Mr. Mensah at the School of Communications Studies at the University of Ghana and the two got closer when he was Minister for Communications in the late 1990s. Their relationship got much closer when he became President.
Mr. Mahama assured the children of the deceased of the support of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and entreated them to be proud to have had him as their father who was “such a great soul”. He noted that “people like him come once a century.”
Mr. Mensah, who was also the Executive Chairman of The Great Argon Holdings, died on Saturday, 23rd October 2021.
