Celebrity activism is not a new phenomenon, and Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson has made headlines once again for her bold stance questioning some policies of President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Known for her outspoken nature and dedication to social issues, Yvonne recently voiced her concerns and criticisms of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.
From raising awareness about access to education to campaigning against child marriage, Yvonne has consistently showcased her passion for causes that impact Ghanaian society.
In her recent rant, she once again demonstrated her commitment to holding those in power accountable.
The filmmaker is horrified by reports that China may seize Ghana’s mineral and electricity revenues if it does not uphold its loan arrangement with the Asian country. Expressing her disappointment with government, she noted that it is “unbelievable” for the government to go for such deals and come back proud.
“It’s just unbelievable! Like howwww? You guys can sleep at night? @NAkufoAddo @MBawumia.”
Yvonne also raised concerns about the government’s handling of corruption allegations. She believes that the NPP government should take a stronger stance against corruption and hold officials accountable for their actions.
