‘Break the 8’ is a myth – Dr. Clement Apaak

Member of Parliament for Builisa South, Dr. Clement Apaak, has laughed off the ruling New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) ‘Break the 8’ campaign, describing it as a myth and mere mantra.

“Whether or not what happens gives them the leverage to think about something that is yet to be achieved in terms of this mantra, and I call it a mantra because I can’t see how it can be actualized”, he stated.

Speaking on The Dialogue on WoezorTV, Dr. Apaak said the newly elected national executives of the NPP cannot help the party ‘Break the 8’, asserting that the NPP even struggled to break the 4, in the 2020 elections, which the opposition National Democratic Congress believes it won.

According to him, the NPP government has been unwholesome, and any thought that they can ‘break the 8’ is a myth.

He cited the bad management of the economy, which has today pushed the country into hardship, lack of development across the country, the institutionalization of corruption by President Nana Akufo-Addo as some of the reasons why Ghanaians will not consider keeping the government in office.

Dr. Apaak, who is a deputy ranking member of the Education Committee of Parliament noted further that, “I can be proven wrong because miracles do happen but if we are to face reality, I see no reason why anyone should have hope that this impossibility can be turned around”.
