The flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has expressed deep sadness and concern over the recent killing of three people by the military in the Bawku municipality.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, Mahama called for the military to work with the police to ensure the safety and security of the Bawku municipality and the entire nation.
“As a former Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, I urge the military personnel to remember their duty to protect the people and uphold the peace,” Mr. Mahama said.
He also extended his thoughts and prayers to the victims’ families while calling on the people of Bawku to work towards promoting and consolidating peace in the area.
Mr. Mahama emphasized the importance of seeking justice for the victims and restoring peace in Bawku, urging everyone to work together towards these goals.
The killings in Bawku have sparked concerns about the security situation in the area, and Mr Mahama’s statement reflects the growing calls for swift action to address the issue.
